Responsibilities:

The Chantilly office of ECS seeks an environmental field technician with experience and knowledge of environmental remediation monitoring and oversight and air sample collection and analysis. The initial focus of this position is asbestos related work, especially air monitoring. But the position also requires field observation, inspection, testing and sampling of lead, soil, and water during remediation and excavation projects. Daily communication is required with site contractors, other technicians and project managers. Provided training: ECS will train candidates in our methods of performing observations, inspections, testing, and to document findings in accordance with accepted engineering practice; but you should have prior experience with asbestos related work and air monitoring. As experience increases, ECS will encourage and aid technicians in increasing level of competence and skills through internal training programs and external programs of certification.



Qualifications:
  • Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Six months to two years related experience

  • NIOSH 582 Equivalency Certification required

  • Asbestos monitoring experience required

  • Virginia Project Monitor Training/Certification

  • Solid communication skills (both written and verbal).

 

Note: ECS does not supply vehicles; therefore you must be able to provide a vehicle suitable for use on construction sites. We will compensate you for use of your own vehicle for work related activities. Pre-employment drug screening and drivers license verification required.
