Responsibilities:

ECS seeks an Electrical / Building and Code Compliance Inspector to work on Third Party Inspection activities in the Northern, VA and Washington, DC area. You should have comprehensive knowledge of the latest IBC codes (2000-2008). The emphasis of the position is ELECTRICAL inspections. But candidates who are cross trained and also have experience in mechanical and plumbing inspections are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will be a combination inspector with multiple ICC certifications (electrical, building, mechanical and plumbing).

 

Working as a part of the TPIP/Materials Testing Group of the Chantilly office of ECS, you should have experience in commercial construction and at least five years of relevant experience. Candidates should either have an bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a PE license, be certified as a Master Electrician PLUS have ICC certification as a commercial electrical inspector. 



Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five years of documented experience in electrical code compliance inspection is required.
  • Prior experience in construction inspection and/or third party inspection activities.
  • Knowledge of IBC Building Codes.
  • BS in electrical engineering and a PE desired.
  • Candidates certified as a Master Electrician will also be considered, but ICC certification as a commerical electrical inspector is REQUIRED to be considered for this position.
  • Strong written communication and computer skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and responsible.
  • Ability to work well with others as part of a team.
